Quick Start — The 44% Rule

3 minutes. No technical knowledge required.

Step 1 — Download the plugin ZIP

👉 Click here to download the plugin directly

Small file (under 50KB). Saves to your Downloads folder. Don't unzip it — Claude Code will handle that.

Step 2 — Open Claude Code

If you don't have Claude Code yet, install it here (free, 2 minutes): docs.claude.com/en/docs/claude-code/quickstart

Claude Code is Anthropic's free desktop tool that lets Claude work directly with your files and plugins.

Step 3 — Install the plugin

Inside Claude Code:

  1. Click the gear icon (settings)
  2. Click Customize
  3. Click the + button
  4. Drag your ZIP file into the drop zone

Done. The plugin is installed.

Prefer a single command? Type this instead:

/plugin install the-44-percent-rule@beginnersinai-skills

Installs from our marketplace in a few seconds, no ZIP needed.

Step 4 — Run your first audit

Type this command in Claude Code:

/map

Claude will ask 5 plain-English questions about your business, scan your workspace, and hand you a prioritized list of AI opportunities you're missing.

Takes 2–5 minutes. You don't need any AI knowledge to answer.

Step 5 — Score your opportunities

Once the map is generated, run:

/map-score

Every opportunity gets ranked by revenue impact, capital reduction, and ease. Items flagged "Press Send" mean the infrastructure already exists — you just need to activate it. Start there.

Turn on Auto-Updates (30 seconds, recommended)

Third-party marketplaces don't auto-update by default. If you installed via the marketplace command, enable auto-updates so fixes and features arrive automatically:

  1. Type /plugin and press Enter
  2. Press Tab until you reach the Marketplaces tab
  3. Select beginnersinai-skills
  4. Choose Enable auto-update
  5. Press Esc

(If you installed from the ZIP, re-download the latest ZIP from above whenever you want to update.)

Common Questions

How often should I run the audit? Once per quarter, or after any major business change. The dedup logic prevents re-flagging gaps you've already addressed.

Want a full audit of just one project? Use /map-venture MyProjectName for a focused 10-function deep-dive on that single project.

Command not found? You forgot the namespace. It's /map, not just /map. Plugin commands are always prefixed.

Nothing happens after install? Run /reload-plugins in Claude Code to refresh the session.

The Research

This plugin is based on a 2026 Harvard/INSEAD study of 515 startups.

Kim, Kim & Koning (2026). Mapping AI into Production: A Field Experiment on Firm Performance.

The 44% finding: Businesses shown how other companies reorganize around AI found 44% more AI use cases, generated 1.9x higher revenue, and needed 39% less capital than the control group. This plugin automates that "showing" so you don't have to manually research 50 other companies.
