If you are having an issue using NixNote2, please check here first, to see if it is commonly encountered, a known bug, or something for which we already have a workaround.
If you see the error Invalid Note Structure when syncing, this is usually when a note contains invalid markup, as nixnote2 / Evernote only supports a subset of the full HTML markup language. Most people notice this after pasting content into a note that they have copied from a page in a web browser.
To find the note that is preventing
Although you can try to work around the issue by using the View / Show Source menu option to remove the offending HTML code, most users find it quicker and easier to Edit / Paste as Unformatted Text [CTRL][SHFT][P] when copying content from their browsers.
There is an open feature request to prevent this happening, #324, but in the mean time you can avoid it with unformatted paste.
On Windows when I first try to synchronize I got this error Login failed: Error creating SSL context()
Some builds of the Windows executable require a DDL - see https://github.com/baumgarr/nixnote2/issues/293 for instructions.
You'll find some other Known Issues and FAQs in the inline documentation for NixNote2. Either use the app menu Help / User's Guide or open it directly from github then look towards the end under sections 'Known Issues' and 'Frequently Asked Questions'.
If you have checked the suggestions above, just before creating a new issue, Search to see if someone has raised the same issue already - searching yourself is much quicker than waiting for someone to respond...
- click on the Issues tab at the top of this screen
- click in the Filters box just underneath
- highlight any default filters (triple-click) and delete them
- type in some part of your error message and Enter to search
If you've searched, and no-one else has raised this issue yet, then please create a New Issue and we'll try our best to help you out.
