Web push notifications are silent on Linux (Firefox/Zen Browser) – no sound played #158

Hi, Is this expected behavior? Do Campfire's push notifications include sound hints, or are they sent as silent by default? |

Hey @abdukhashimov 👋 The notifications aren't silent, it's up to the browser to give a hint to your notification daemon to play a sound. As for playing a sound from the service worker, to my knowledge, that's not possible. I also run Zen on Arch all notifications, from many different sites, are silent for me. |

Best we could do is send a message from the service worker to the browser window to play a sound, which would only work if you have Campfire open.

That said, I saw that there are a few addons that allow you to add and customize the sound of notifications - though be aware that they are a bit privacy invasive.
