a few people have been asking me how I manage to turn my screen brightness down so low for late-night work. I finally got around to packaging up my setup into a repo for anyone interested.
The script uses logarithmic scaling to give you fine-grained control in the 0-5% brightness range (shown as 1% increments) while keeping standard 5% steps for normal brightness levels. You can literally scale down to 1/400 of maximum brightness, which is perfect for complete darkness without burning your retinas.
