Keyboard not working after login screen in virtualbox

System details

Acer aspire vero, 16gb of ram, Omarchy 3.1.1

What's wrong?

After install and login my keyboard does nothing inside of the VM window. I can log in to omarchy but as soon as it loads up, none of my keystrokes do anything. I can use my mouse, and it tells me that the keyboard is captured in the bottom right, but nothing registers. I've tried it in fullscreen to no avail as well.

After further poking around today, some of the keybindings work, but also tend to be inconsistent. I had the browser one working for a while as super + shift + b, but just then it randomly switched to opening an incognito tab. I still can't access the terminal at all. Almost all of the issues I'm facing are to do with the windows super key so windows could be the problem here.
