Inserting emojis directly instead of copy to clipboard

Is there a way to configure this behavior and have emojis inserted at the cursor location instead of being copied to the clipboard? Would be less friction for example when posting a tweet:

[cossssmin]

Another scenario I've ran into: had an image in the clipboard, ready to paste in the tweet. Was writing the tweet text and grabbing an emoji replaced the image in the clipboard. So right now you need to remember to first paste the image, or use some clipboard manager in such cases.
