Description
描述 Bug
Hello,
I am experiencing an issue when trying to capture BongoCat in OBS Studio and Streamlabs Desktop.
Problem:
When I add BongoCat using Window Capture, the preview appears completely black in OBS.
If I change the capture method (Automatic / Windows 10 1903 / etc.), the preview either stays black or becomes fully transparent.
The application itself works normally on the desktop.
Additional Details:
OBS version: 32.0.4
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
OS: Windows 10
BongoCat version: 0.9.0
Both OBS and BongoCat are running on the same GPU
Hardware acceleration is enabled
Always on Top is enabled in BongoCat
Transparency is enabled (default window behavior)
What I Tried:
Switching between Window Capture methods
Using Game Capture instead of Window Capture
Enabling Multi-adapter compatibility
Running OBS as administrator
Setting both apps to High Performance GPU in Windows Graphics settings
Changing OpenGL / compatibility options in NVIDIA settings
Expected Behavior:
BongoCat should be captured normally in OBS like other transparent overlay applications.
Actual Behavior:
OBS shows a black screen or transparent output when trying to capture the BongoCat window.
It seems related to hardware acceleration or the rendering method used by BongoCat (possibly WebView / GPU rendering), which may prevent proper capture in OBS Window Capture.
Screenshot:
I have attached a screenshot showing the black preview in OBS while BongoCat is running normally.
重现步骤
- Open BongoCat (version 0.9.0).
- Open OBS Studio (version 32.0.4).
- Add a new source → Window Capture.
- Select "bongo-cat.exe".
- The preview appears completely black.
- Changing capture method (Automatic / Windows 10 1903) does not fix the issue.
预期行为
BongoCat window should be captured normally in OBS, including its transparent background, similar to other overlay applications.
软件信息
BongoCat: 0.9.0
OBS Studio: 32.0.4
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Running on High Performance GPU
Hardware acceleration enabled
附加信息
Desktop Capture works correctly and shows BongoCat normally.
The issue only happens when using Window Capture.
With Window Capture, the preview appears black.
When changing the capture method, the preview becomes fully transparent.
So the window itself is detected, but its contents are not rendered correctly in Window Capture.
