I'm a writer who uses Claude's read-aloud feature as my primary way of consuming story content while working hands-free. I have an active serialized story called Corda — about a blind girl who plays violin — where the music referenced in the narrative is central to the emotional experience of the story itself.
What I'd love to see is an artifact or skill that combines text-to-speech narration with embedded music cues — so that when the story text indicates a piece of music is being played, the actual piece plays underneath or alongside the narration at that moment. Public domain classical music would cover most of what writers like me would need, and the music cue could be as simple as a tagged annotation in the story text that the system recognizes and responds to.
The artifact system already renders interactive content and calls APIs. The read-aloud feature already handles long-form narration. The missing piece is just a bridge between those two layers with a music library attached.
This would be genuinely transformative for audio-first storytelling — not just for my use case but for anyone writing fiction where music, sound, or atmosphere is part of the story's DNA. I don't think I'm the only writer who would use this immediately if it existed.
Thank you for considering it.
