I don't think it's working on my M1 Macbook Air

I can't seem to get anything besides a green thermometer, and "Thermal Pressure: Nominal." I ran a bunch of stuff, and then added the Endurance app, and it seemed to be getting quite hot and slowing down. Temp fluctuating between 95 and 105, which I understand is where thermal throttling should be happening.

Am I wrong? Missing something?

Can you check with mx power gadget to see if you can spot thermal throttling? like the first screenshot in https://stanislas.blog/2025/12/macos-thermal-throttling-app/

Interesting, you can also check with powermetrics to see what the system reports: sudo powermetrics -s thermal

Interesting indeed. "Current pressure level: Nominal" I tried to get the GPU temp up too by playing a few videos in Chrome, but it didn't make a difference. It's clearly under pressure, though, given the drop in P-core frequency.

Oh well, looks like an Apple bug.

I see the same on an M3 Macbook Air. Always nominal, despite a spike to 111 degrees C while compiling a project.
