Note that there's no need to rush to the latest edition, so feel free to slow-walk this particular PR, especially if you're concerned about some checks/build processes failing before other systems update to the latest version of Rust. |

Rust has a new "edition": 2024. This PR brings gorilla up-to-date.
How I did this
I followed this guide to do the update.
All tests passed at every step of the process, including at the end right before I submitted this PR.
Guidance for other maintainers
You probably want to run
rustup update stableto get the latest version of Rust (v1.85.0 on my machine).
