Dashboard Module Implementation

Overview

Successfully implemented the complete Dashboard module for the AI-Powered Farmer Decision Support Platform. The dashboard provides an all-in-one view of important farming information with personalized guidance.

Completed Tasks

Task 16.1: Dashboard Aggregator and Data Collection ✅

Created Services:

  • DashboardAggregator.ts - Collects data from all modules (weather, alerts, crops, market, recommendations)
  • PriorityEngine.ts - Prioritizes information display based on time sensitivity and importance
  • DashboardService.ts - Main service with 2-second load guarantee and caching

Key Features:

  • Parallel data collection from all modules for performance
  • Intelligent caching with 1-minute timeout
  • 2-second load timeout guarantee (Requirement 14.9)
  • Automatic prioritization of time-sensitive information (Requirement 14.8)
  • Graceful error handling with fallback to cached data

Task 16.3: Widget Manager and Quick Actions ✅

Created Services:

  • WidgetManager.ts - Manages dashboard widgets and user preferences

Key Features:

  • Configurable widget system with enable/disable and reordering
  • Quick action generation for all major features (Requirement 14.6)
  • Personalized insights based on season and crop stage (Requirement 14.7)
  • Season detection (summer, monsoon, post-monsoon, winter)
  • Crop stage-based recommendations
  • Weather and market-based insights

Task 16.4: Dashboard UI Components ✅

Performance Optimizations

  1. Caching Strategy:

    • 1-minute cache timeout for dashboard data
    • Stale cache used as fallback on errors
    • Per-user cache management
  2. Load Time Guarantee:

    • 2-second timeout enforced via Promise.race
    • Falls back to cached data on timeout
    • Parallel data collection from all modules
  3. Offline Support:

    • All data cached locally
    • Dashboard fully functional offline
    • Automatic refresh when online
  4. UI Performance:

    • FlatList for efficient rendering
    • ScrollView with pull-to-refresh
    • Lazy loading of widgets
    • Optimized re-renders

Testing
