[BUG] Audio track selection not working correctly

Tested version: ytDownloader 3.19.3 (Windows)

Description

When downloading videos with multiple audio tracks, the selected audio option in the app (No audio or Original) does not seem to have any effect.
The resulting file always contains a specific dubbed audio track, regardless of the selected option.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open ytDownloader 3.19.3 on Windows.

2. Try downloading this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcFKdG6P_ww

   • The video contains two audio tracks:

     • Original (Russian)
     • Dubbed (English US, default)

3. In the app, choose either:

   • No audio, or
   • Original

4. Start the download.

Expected Behavior

The downloaded file should:

• Contain no audio when No audio is selected.
• Contain the original Russian audio track when Original is selected.

Actual Behavior

Regardless of the selected option, the resulting file always includes the English dubbed track (default).

Additional Example

When testing another video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjPH9njnaVU
I get the Russian audio track instead of the expected **original (Us) default ** one.

I’m providing this as an example that the selected track is not the one marked as default, but is chosen according to some other principle.

Notes / Hypothesis

It seems the application might always pick the first available audio stream in the metadata, rather than honoring the user’s choice.
This could be related to a recent YouTube API or format change affecting track order or labeling.

Some videos have audio, while some videos don't. If there is a speaker (🔊) icon like this -

It means the video has audio, so when you select "No audio", you're not downloading any audio track separately, however the video still has audio.
In case of other audio options, indeed it should override the default audio of the video, I will look into that.
For now just choose a video which doesn't have the 🔉 icon and it should work fine

Thank you for the quick response! Overall, the app perfectly combines a clean design with rich functionality. I really like its simple interface and cross-platform support. I hope the issue with the audio streams can be resolved. I’ve noticed that a similar problem exists in ReVanced — the audio track cannot be selected there either, unlike in the original Android app. So if you manage to fix it, you’ll be the first to do so.

Then you can choose the necessary audio:

And it should work fine

I'm using the latest version and I'm having trouble downloading videos that have more than one audio track. For example, when I download a part of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkCWkUB2QK4 and select the language Portuguese (BR), the downloaded video actually comes in Indonesian

After experimenting a bit more, I noticed the same problem happens if I select the original English audio: the downloaded video comes in Indonesian

Try selecting a video format which doesn't have a speaker icon:

For several days now, every video I try to download shows no audio, but after saving, the audio is there. The problem is with videos that have multiple language tracks that save with audio in a language other than default (english). The language selection option is gone.

I tried that url. Here is what I got

The thing is, youtube behaves differently based on your IP. I can't do anything about it. The only thing I can recommend is trying changing your network, maybe try with VPN

Maybe a week ago I could chose language from track list before, then track list dissapeared ("No Audio") - definitely YT changed something, (not to mention the appearance of the player a few days ago). And even if I did chose any track, downloaded language was wrong, no English at all no matter which one I chose, but I can play English sound on YT without any problems. And I could be wrong, but I feel like this only applies to videos that might be controversial - ones that Google might not like.
When you select English and download vid, do you have English track saved, not i.e. Spanish?

Unfortunately, using VPN didn't help, clearing cookies too. Same story. First link downloads in Spanish, second in German. And still "No Audio". Maybe I should reinstall the App?

Are you importing cookies from browser?
