to get the GPU going the guide references getting to the performance menu in settings:

Settings → Models → Select smaller model

but there is no performance option in Settings:

The blog’s Settings → Performance → Enable GPU path is out of date for current Meetily Desktop. Your screenshot is consistent with newer builds: GPU / device is folded into Models (or auto-detected), not a separate Performance pane.

What to do instead

1. Settings → Models: pick a smaller Whisper/Parakeet model first (Large → Medium/Small) — that matches the same doc’s “too slow” fix and does not need a Performance menu.
2. GPU: look for device / compute / CUDA / DirectML / Metal next to the model, or an Advanced/Engine section. If there is none, the build is using whatever the bundled runtime compiled with (CUDA if an NVIDIA GPU is visible, else CPU).
3. Confirm the backend actually sees the GPU (Windows: Task Manager → GPU when transcribing; NVIDIA: nvidia-smi). If GPU util stays 0, it’s CPU even if the old blog says “enable GPU”.
4. Blog issues: the install guide is a separate site from the app; file a docs issue if Performance was removed.

For lag, smaller model is the control that still exists in your UI. GPU toggle living only in old docs is a documentation bug, not you missing a hidden menu.
