[Discussion] Reducing build times

The build times are rather long, especially for the docs. I'm putting this issue up to probe if we could explore alternatives to autoapi and or sphinx; whether it is worth it or we just set in and forget it. The docs currently generate a bunch of images which could statically generated for example. Open to ideas and happy to hear your thoughts!

About 10 minutes for the complete build.

We should move the docs into a separate CI job. This will help people iterate faster on tests as opposed to docs.

I am in favor of setting the docs under a separate job which would speed up development for now. We could leave the docs as and evaluate in the future?
