Is there a way to get motion interpolation working with this? Like using mvtools or svp or LSFG or specific gpu based interpolation filters?

Hello. I can probably add mpv’s built-in motion interpolation in a future update. The other options, like MVTools, SVP, and LSFG, are external video interpolation solutions rather than native mpv features. I’ll still check whether they’re feasible to integrate, but the main goal of MPV-SW-Capture, is to avoid unnecessary latency so the capture card stays as close to lag-free as possible. Those external methods can add noticeable processing overhead depending on the setup.

Mpv's built in interpolation doesn't work to get that smooth motion (soap opera live effect).

It would be great to play console games with motion interpolation and no latency issues.

Do you know of way to use mpv with a capture card and a motion interpolation software solution that is lag free ? I haven't found a good solution yet.

Hello. If you want true soap-opera-style motion interpolation, you’ll likely need an external solution that you named, like SVP, MVTools, or LSFG. mpv’s built-in interpolation can help, but it usually won’t deliver that same effect. The tradeoff is latency: the more advanced the interpolation, the harder it is to keep the capture workflow lag-free.
I will investigate if I can do something about this, but at least, I can add the mpv's built-in motion interpolation option, soon.
Maybe can be a bit closer (not the same) at what you want.
