IvoryTower still has some bizarre quirks, like how we use threads more like channels, and how you reply to messages by clicking on post numbers. How can we keep what's good about IvoryTower but still make it more approachable?

Explanatory text?

Adopting more standard patterns and conventions where possible (like a reply icon button)?
