This might be less of an issue and more of a question. Basically, I was wondering is it planned or even technically possible to improve the deinterlacing solution? I'm playing on m64p which uses mupen64plus-video-parallel (should be this repo which is why I figured to complain here). It offers two solutions, Weave and Bob. Weave is fine but interlacing lines that appear on every moving object give the image a really emulator-y vibe which is not ideal when you're trying to go for maximum authenticity possible. Bob looks nice during movement but the whole image bobs (probably as the name suggests) up and down. It's less noticeable in 3D interlaced environments (like Indiana Jones) but gets really unpleasant in 2D environments (like StarCraft 64). Bob example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtKcxxzH5ls

Bob and Weave are the only straight forward deinterlacers that I know of. More advanced deinterlacers exist, but I don't know how they work or what they do.

mupen64plus-video-parallel is my port-to-standalone-Mupen/PJ64 work until Logan vastly improved it. Though yeah, it all started from the original parallel-rdp work in parallel-n64.

sorry if this is a really obvious question, but can the interlaced output simply be fed into the graphics card deinterlacer

failing that, what about Yaidf? although that is for YUY2 images...
