Hi, found this app on Alternative To as a QLab alternative. Tempted to try it out with some students I work with in theatre, since it's by far the most accessible cue player I've ever seen. No need for a MacBook or to even install anything is a huge bonus for getting students (or anybody) to try anything.

I've noticed a few problems so far with basic usage:

  • The app becomes very slow when making changes to cues after loading even one file, something like changing a name is very sluggish.
  • Cues seemingly cannot be reordered once created. Some way to edit the number of the cue is essential.
  • There is no mention of Group cues anywhere in documentation, and they don't differ in appearance to a Wait cue. Crucially, they do not auto-advance when the duration finishes.
  • Pressing GO will immediately cut off the audio from the previous cue when playing the next one. If this is intentional, it should be mentioned somewhere since this is not normal behaviour for most cue players (which will continue playing previous cues on top of each other).
  • OSC cue documentation is very vague, is it part of a Command cue? Could you include a more in-depth example?
  • The "Loading Media" section of the documentation implies that media can be played without loading, and that loading only makes it faster. This is true for QLab (where the AI got this information from), but in this application media cannot be played at all without loading. Pre-Loading cues hasn't been a thing for quite a long time, usually older Macs running QLab V4 or below since modern machines are much faster.
  • There is no mention of how to install the server locally or as a Progressive Web App, just that it is possible.
  • Cue notes should be at the top of "Edit Cue" options, just underneath the name of the cue. If the notes are at the bottom, an operator might miss their cue line completely because they can't see it, or miss it by having to physically scroll down every time.
  • The codebase is absolutely littered with AI comments directed to you, the prompter, as opposed to what should be you documenting your work in comments explaining how things work to another user (if they want to make their own changes).

I hope that's helpful, even if it's AI generated it's still a generally nice idea.
