Enhanced reporting and filtering

Just started trying out v4.0 and seems to bee working well so far. Just have 2 related features that would make it perfect for my use case.

1. I saw in another issue that it is planned to implement filtering by tags in the table view, could this also be done for the dashboard?
2. Could we allow the dashboard and table to be filtered by a user defined date range? ex. previous 3 months, 6 months, year, etc?.

• yes, filtering is planned for table view. tbh i had not considered it for dashboard before your request here. can you provide me with an example use case or two for filtering the dashboard (except the date range use case for next point)? i'm thinking some it may be closely related to one of the points on First impressions, ideas, and little contributions #71 , i think i can solve for these together then
• yes, date range should be fine. depending on your thought about the previous point, i can club them all together

It is similar to that cash flow point in #71 , I think we are both talking about having our selected filter reflected throughout the UI instead of just in one place (in his case it's category, in my case it's tag).

For example, if I have user A and user B, and I use tags to record who made each expense, then I could go to the dashboard and see how much user A spent on the "Dining Out" category.
