Technical Implementation

KD-tree Integration

Changes to manifold.rs:

pub struct PythagoreanManifold {
    valid_states: Vec<[f32; 2]>,
    /// KD-tree for fast O(log N) nearest neighbor lookup
    kdtree: KDTree,
}

impl PythagoreanManifold {
    pub fn new(density: usize) -> Self {
        // ... build valid states ...
        let kdtree = KDTree::build(&states);  // O(N log N) build
        Self { valid_states: states, kdtree }
    }

    pub fn snap(&self, vector: [f32; 2]) -> ([f32; 2], f32) {
        // Use KD-tree for O(log N) lookup
        if let Some((nearest, _idx, _dist_sq)) = self.kdtree.nearest(&v_in) {
            let resonance = nearest[0] * v_in[0] + nearest[1] * v_in[1];
            let noise = 1.0 - resonance;
            (nearest, noise)
        }
        // ... fallback to linear search if needed ...
    }
}
