question: how is the URA planning area code meant to function?

By entering the schools postal code, the expected planning area should be where the school is at / near the school. However, upon entering a test school's postal code (in this case, Gongshang Primary School, located in Tampines), the planning area suggested was Bishan.

Is my understanding of how the planning area is suppose to function correct? If so, would this constitute as a bug?

@superb-sushi i think currently implemented as a mapping to different areas, somehow this gongshang school is one of the edge case that doesn't really nicely map to the correct estate.

However this part here is not really high value currently, as from user reseach, schools primarily source from different channels based on the below priority

1. Internal school teachers
2. "Preferred" exeternal teachers (Flexi-Adjunct Teachers, Part time etc etc)
3. REMS directory

I guess the postal code mapping bug will only impact the distance, of candidates in the REMS directory, affecting slightly how teachers are being prioritised by the filters. Not a big thing.

However, that said, if there's a low handing fruit (i.e. OneMap api or any other free apis) that we can easily fix, pls feel free~~
