Hotkey action fails

The hotkey actions don't do anything when pressed, this was observed after systemd version 258. Updating the udev rules as required has no effect.

Now that we've narrowed this down the hotkey plugin, I can confirm that I can also reproduce this

Actually, I can only reproduce this on a fakedeck, not a real StreamDeck. I'm also still using the udev rules outlined here. Let's validate that the uaccess tag is being applied appropriately. Please try the following:

1. Run lsusb | grep Elgato to show a list of Elgato devices.
   • An example response will read Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0fd9:006d Elgato Systems GmbH Stream Deck original V2
2. Run udevam info --query=all --name=/dev/bus/usb/{bus}/{device} | grep TAGS
   • In my example case above, the command would read udevadm info --query=all --name=/dev/bus/usb/001/006
3. Post the results
4. My result reads like below

E: TAGS=:seat:uaccess:
E: CURRENT_TAGS=:seat:uaccess:

This should help us understand if the issue is with tagging the device, or something else.

Also there's a typo on your command, it's udevadm, you wrote udevam

I could solve it in the meantime with the steps that show up when you try to make a hotkey button and it says that you have no input rights.

Just to confirm, everything was working before your most recent update, without having that change in place? The hotkey should have never worked if that was missing.

As far as I remember, it worked out of the box for me. BUT: I have had streamdeck-ui on the machine first and in parallel, so perhaps that came from there. I would assume that some kind of update erased the modification which I then made again. But I am just an ordinary user and hope to help the professionals here (and myself). :-)

I never had the input group or that extra udev rule and the hotkey action was working since ever too.

Cant remember if i had the Streamdeck-ui on this machine before.
But when i did the commands the 99-Streamdeck-osplugin.rules files got created.
It wasnt there in the folder before (with before i meant as i started troubleshooting as it stopped working.) .
The input group already existed.

After somewhat extensive troubleshooting, I was able to get it working, there was an extra udev file in my system conflicting with the others. Right now I'm just using the one from the FAQ with the systemd 258 fixes and seems to be working.

Also doing the same as the wiki, Streamcontroller started working again, but only after I deleted the other udev files, leaving only the new 99-streamdeck-osplugin.rules one remaining.
