@cschanhniem selfhost does work like this and we have all those flags and settings in place

The user is specifically talking about desktop, I thought this followed the same request permission setting prompt as selfhost so will follow-up tonight on this

@luckmagnet Can you please show where you are seeing the analytics as enabled by default? I cant find anywhere in code this is happening but might be missing it? Are you seeing this somewhere in the UI?

The requests are being blocked by the firewall.

The domains are -

For analytics
i.posthog.com

For telemetry
a.nel.cloudflare.com

We introduced a patch related to posthog loading itself even though we called opt out, this was in 2.14.1 was that screenshot before or after?
(Also no metrics were received our end by those events it was purely posthog itself loading not our personal calls to it)

The flow should be on startup you have a prompt to enable/ disable analytics first run and after that it remembers your prompt and never appears again

I see a user just raised a PR to allow you to toggle this post start-up in desktop mode
So once that's merged we can also see if it was enabled by mistake by you during startup and can be toggled off that way
