Faulty example hookup for BO-11189? #1

Is it possible that the hookup for B0-11189 is faulty? (https://github.com/SparkfunTechSupport/Hookup-diagrams/blob/master/BOB-11189/BOB-11189%20hookup.jpg)
I couldn't get my transceiver to work, while strolling the internet I found this tutorial (https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/215). Under solution there is also a wiring diagram. I switched my wires according to this diagram and my transceiver started to work.
On the example hookup RS232-TX is wired to R1IN and RS232-RX is wired to T1OUT. In the tutorial it is the other way around.
