Sales Analysis Dashboard

Problem Statement

The objective of this Tableau project is to create an interactive and insightful dashboard that provides a comprehensive analysis of sales data. The dashboard will allow users to gain valuable insights into sales performance, trends, and patterns across different dimensions such as time, product categories, geographical regions, and customer segments.

Steps followed

  • Step 1 : Load data into Tableau Desktop, dataset is a excel file.

         Although, by default, while calculating average, blank values are ignored.

Geographical Analysis:

Maps and charts illustrating sales performance across different regions or countries, highlighting areas of high and low sales activity. Dashboard_upload

Profitability Analysis:

Visualizations showing profitability metrics such as gross profit margin, net profit, and contribution margin for products or regions. Dashboard_upload

Sales Channel Performance:

Comparison of sales performance across different Ship modes (First class, Same day, second class, standard class) to evaluate channel effectiveness and optimize sales strategies.

Insights

Following inferences can be drawn from the dashboard;

[1] Total Number of Customers = 795

Total numbers of order = 51,295

Total numbers of countries order take place = 147

Maximun order take place from united states = 9,994 Orders take place from india is 1,555

[2] Sales by category

  a) Sales in category funiture is 32.516%
  b) Sales in category Office supplies is 29.995%
  c) Sales in category Technology is 37.529%

[3] Some other insights

Orders placed

1.1) Sales in category funiture is 34,954

1.2) Sales in category Office supplies is 108,182

1.3) Sales in category Technology is 35,176

     thus, maximum customers Placed order in Office supplies categories.

Order returns

2.1) Out of 51,295 order 3055 orders are returned i.e. out of 100% 5.96 orders are returned.

2.2) Maximun orders are returned from binders.

Dashboard_upload

     thus, maximum customers belong to '25-50' age group.

Order priority

3.1) 7.54 % customers have order type 'Critical' .

3.2) 30.30 % customers have customer type 'High'.

3.3) 4.56 % customers have customer type 'low'.

3.4) 57.51 % customers have customer type 'Medium'.

   thus, more customers have Oder priority as 'Medium'.
