To run this project locally, follow these steps:
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/ShirleyLe3/cosmic-photo-explorer.git cd cosmic-photo-explorer
- Install dependencies:
- Create a .env file in the root directory and add your NASA API key:
REACT_APP_NASA_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
- Start the development server:
npm start
- Open your browser and navigate to:
http://localhost:3000
- Visit the home page to see the Astronomy Picture of the Day.
- Browse through the collection of photos and read detailed explanations about each one.
