When it says:

1. wind speed is that an instantaneous, averaged over a short term or averaged since the last transmission?
2. if it is an average: what sort of average? Eg. Mean-average, Median-average, Modal-average?
3. rain accumulation is over how long?
4. standard rain is since last interval or since another time period?

Regarding your first question, the maximum gust wind speed is defined as the maximum wind speed within the specified upload interval.

For example, if the upload interval is set to 5 minutes, the gust speed is the maximum wind speed within those 5 minutes.

Regarding your second question, it is possible to use your cell phone to connect your device to the app via Bluetooth and then reset the cumulative rainfall.

Resetting the cumulative rainfall initiates the calculation process.

The rain intensity is measured as a fixed minute-by-minute reading from the sensor, calculated using a sliding minute window. Wind speed, on the other hand, is recorded by the sensor every minute, but the reported data is determined by the user's specified reporting cycle. For example, if the reporting interval is set to 5 minutes, the wind speed reported will be the value recorded at the fourth minute. Similarly, for a 10-minute reporting interval, the wind speed reported will be the value recorded at the ninth minute.

Gotcha. If I understood correctly the rain is the mean average for the last minute before the report and the wind speed is the mean average over the penultimate minute of the set interval?

I never would have guessed the wind speed thing but I think I can make my idea of a Gust Index where I mathematically divide Interval Max Wind Gust by the Wind Minute average and send a notification (all in Node Red). In my experience damage to fences etc. is due to gusts and not wind in general.

Rainfall is not based on the average of the last minute before the report, but rather calculated continuously using the available minute-by-minute data.

I've integrated one of these weather sensors into our LoRa network and the device is sending packages. Unfortunately the send data cannot be interpreted by the parser. Another one of these weather sensors is already integrated and working just finde with the same parser. The admin of our LoRa platform suggested it might be a malfunction of the sensor. Do you have any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Nevermind, I figured it out. The firmware update rendered the payload unusable for our parser. Rolling back to version 1.14 fixed it.
