thoughts on linear canonical transform?

i ran across it on wikipedia and it seemed to have a strong unifying aspect. unsure about its practicality, curious if you have any thoughts.

I believe Ozaktas et al have written papers about fast implementations of the Linear Canonical Transform.

It would be very useful in many places where the Frft is useful, as it is a generalization of the Frft, among many other transforms.

I would be very interested in it.
