Can you post a screenshot of what you mean by "display figures properly"? I'm not sure what sort of update Windows or Ubuntu could have that would make an Electron app suddenly break.

On Windows, including UI texts and the newly placed stones

I experienced the same issue when I was testing themes a few days ago. The red square icon displayed on the current move as in the diagram above. It occurred for the baduktv theme and another one by the same creator.
I'm using Win10.
