I am receiving this error when using AWS bedrock, but only with some models, qwen.qwen3-coder-480b-a35b-v1:0 for example.

Users of AWS bedrock when using qwen.qwen3-coder-480b-a35b-v1:0 and most other models. Claude Sonnet 4.5 works.

I've analyzed this issue and identified the root cause.

Root Cause Analysis:

The error "The provided model identifier is invalid" occurs because the cross-region inference prefix is being applied to models that do not support it.

When cross-region inference is enabled in settings:

1. The code adds a region prefix (e.g., us.) to the model ID
2. For qwen.qwen3-coder-480b-a35b-v1:0, this results in us.qwen.qwen3-coder-480b-a35b-v1:0
3. AWS Bedrock rejects this because Qwen models do not support cross-region inference profiles
4. Claude models work because they are supported by AWS cross-region inference

Proposed Implementation Plan:

1. Create a new constant BEDROCK_CROSS_REGION_INFERENCE_MODEL_IDS in packages/types/src/providers/bedrock.ts that lists all models supporting cross-region inference (primarily Anthropic Claude models based on AWS documentation)

2. Modify the getModel() method in src/api/providers/bedrock.ts to only apply the cross-region inference prefix when the base model ID is in the supported list:

• No breaking changes for existing Claude model users

Opened a PR with my attempt at addressing this: #10476

The fix adds validation to only apply cross-region inference prefixes to models that actually support it (Anthropic Claude models). For models like Qwen that do not support cross-region inference, the prefix is now silently skipped instead of being applied and causing an invalid model identifier error.
