[BUG] The response parsing from some models - Minimax M2.1 and Grok seems to be janky at times. Claude I don't seem to get the issue.

I get what appears to be some xml when using the default roo code setting for parsing model provider responses.

Context (who is affected and when)

Claude seems ok, Minimax M2.1 and Grok 4.1 and DeepSeek have this issue.

Reproduction steps

Intermittent issue. Could be model confusion but not sure if there is an uncaught exception.

Expected result

No model XML should be displayed to the user.

Actual result

Model XML is output to the user in the chat window`

3. Which tool protocol setting are you using? In your Roo Code settings, is "Tool Calling" set to "Native" or "XML"? (Settings > Advanced > Tool Protocol)

Thanks. I can’t reproduce from the current report because the repro is described as intermittent and there is no example of the leaked XML.

To move this forward, please reply here with:

1. A copy/paste sample of the XML that appears in the chat (redact secrets).
2. When it occurs (first message, after a tool call, mid-response, etc).
3. Your Tool Protocol setting: Settings -> Roo Code -> Advanced -> Tool Protocol (Native vs XML).
4. Whether you are using any custom modes or custom system prompts.
5. Versions: Roo Code v3.8.1 is noted, plus VS Code version and OS.
