After v210 something happened with fan control. Every version from v211 and onward has been really sluggish in terms of how smooth things like changing window size, dragging the scroll bar and opening slide menus is. And the difference is pretty big.
I've tested all versions from v157 to the latest. And while from v157 to v210 things have become progressively more choppy, from v210 to v211 there's a big jump. At this point (v228) the program runs like it's on a cheap laptop from 2009.
I've gone back as far as v41 just to compare it with others like v228, v201, v153 v137, v67 etc and the further back you go the smoother the interface feels in broad terms. It's weird.
Now.. I am running a 6700xt, and I was using a 3060 before. Could this all be AMD's fault? Sure, it's a possibility. Highly possible in fact. I even added fan control as a game in adrenaline and forced vsync and freesync as if that would help lol..... It obviously didn't.
I've landed on just using v196 from now on for some of the new UI upgrades and what not. The only reason I tried upgrading from v157 to v228 was because I wanted to try and control my graphics card fans through fan control (the older version didn't have that build in for amd) and install the lightest version of adrenaline instead.. Sadly it behaved unsatisfactory. Planning on going back to nvidia anyway so I couldn't bother fixing it.
Oh, and I'm using a b550 board with a 5600 and win 11 pro.
