How to query for author and subcomment of a testcase based on case ID

Hi, I would like to get the author and Sub Team field of a Polarion testcase based on its ID. Is that possible via the Pylero API or Polarion REST API somehow?

Since I don't have access to your project and my default project doesn't have a custom field which allows multiple enum selections, I can only guess about subteam

For my default project (RHG3)

For your project (OSE), it's similar to

PS: AFAIK Polarion didn't release REST API yet. Pylero uses WSDL SOAP API.

If I understand it correctly, you were stating that it's cumbersome to refer SOAP API everytime?

Our immediate goal is to set CI up and running (we already have the tests) and write up some ARCHITECTURE.md which community can refer to.

Basically all the hardwork was done by @simzacks et al, mapping Polarion entities to Python objects (can call dir on every object) and so using Pylero is straightforward, like try out corresponding steps locally and transfer them into a pipeline.

@leelavg, yeah, it looks great and easy to do. I'm just wondering if we were to use this author look up in a script often, would that be throttled? The use case is that if the testcase failed, we would like to notify the author of the testcase automatically by looking it up by the Polarion testcase ID.

@pruan-rht we generally suggest other tools (~xml importer) for multiple updates, let's say updating results for a test run consisting of ~50 tests in a single shot.

However your usecase seems to be minimal which doesn't hammer the server. There's no throttling inbuilt per se, it all depends upon number of updates in quick succession.

@leelavg ok got it. Yeah, my use case is to just retrieve the author. Perhaps I can cache that information to a more accessible database once the author has been retrieved and get that from going forward, since I don't expect that information to change that often. Thanks for the help!
