Suggestion for a more suitable icon theme

I'm using the monochrome black variant of this icon theme, after removing gradients and making all color solid black with this hacky find command: find . -type f -name "*.svg" -exec sed -i -E 's/stop-color:[^;]+/stop-color:#000000/g; s/rgb$[0-9, ]+$/rgb(0,0,0)/g' {} \;.

Icons are much more visible throughout the OS, and render beautifully on the E-Ink screen - except for the app overview, where the dark boxes around each application make the icons invisible.
