Possible for query and UI search parameters to become out of sync

What went wrong?

Saw the "MEG" modality not being properly considered in a search query. This is probably a bad state change on the client, where the query got constructed out of sync with the UI state.

Expected behavior

Any query parameters displayed on the UI should be reflected in the search query results.

How to reproduce

Needs a reproduction, I think selecting the modality during the loading state is my first guess.
