How to return enum as an integer instead of a string?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to serialize an enum property in C# and want it to be represented as an integer rather than a string.

Here’s my code:

public enum OrderType
{
    TypeOne = 0,
    TypeTwo = 1,
    TypeThree = 2,
}

public class MyClass
{
    public OrderType Type { get; set; }
}

Currently, the JSON output is:

{
    "Type": "TypeOne"
}

But I need this instead:

{
    "Type": 0
}

How can I achieve this? Thanks in advance!

thanks for your reply. I tried your solution like this:

.AddRouteComponents("odata", GetEdmModel(), services =>
{
    services.AddSingleton<ODataPayloadValueConverter, CustomODataPayloadValueConverter>();
})

This works, the CustomODataPayloadValueConverter is called. But in ConvertToPayloadValue I'm unable to detect if its an enum. I'm using TypeKind(), PrimitiveKind() and IsEnum() to detect but no luck. Any idea?
