I would like to work on this issue under GSSoC'26.
I have already been exploring the codebase and believe this feature can be integrated smoothly by extracting URLs from uploaded QR codes and passing them through the existing URL analysis pipeline. I'll also ensure proper validation, error handling, and a user-friendly experience.

Hi @Mrinalray ! I'd like to work on this issue.
Proposed approach:

Add a QR upload input (file picker + optional drag-and-drop) and a "Scan with camera" option using the device camera.
Use a lightweight client-side library like jsQR or html5-qrcode to decode the QR code and extract the embedded URL/text.
Once decoded, automatically pass the extracted URL into the existing scanning flow (same Google Safe Browsing check used for manually entered URLs).
Display the decoded URL to the user before scanning (so they can verify it isn't disguised/malicious-looking) along with the safety result.
Handle edge cases: QR codes that don't contain a URL (show raw text instead), invalid/corrupted images, and unsupported file types.

I'll keep the UI consistent with the existing design (same result cards for Safe/Potential Threat). Could you confirm if this approach sounds good, and assign this issue to me? Thanks!
