Currently all users get the same username "MetaGamer" that - when customized via JitSi itself - gets reset to the default after switching rooms on the interspace.

Possible solutions:

  • access JitSi local storage
  • Input component that stores Username in local storage. UserContext then reads username from local storage on init

Fow now deactivated any specific implementations in favor of JitSi's built in local storage.

Yea the custom usernames will work better once we have the character profiles and can link it to 3box.

+1 for linking 3box profile
I see that nickname is kept from space to space by jitsi, that's good.
for what else do we need username ?

further integration would still be great but this issue is very outdated

Want to weed out a bit - Can I close this?
