avar panel sometimes does not show mappings properly

The avar view sometimes shows mappings with vertical arrows, when they should be diagonal, representing an actual change. It seems to be ok when selecting instances using the axis sliders and the STAT table. However, when choosing from the Instances panel, the arrows are straight down.
