Can't enter Julia REPL with backtick with non-english keyboard layout

I am using Swedish keyboard layout and have no button for backtick, but have to use the shift modifier. The problem is that I'm unable to enter the Julia REPL-mode when using the debugger, unless I switch to to a British keyboard layout.

I suspect that is has to do something with backtick being a so called dead key, waiting for another input before displaying.
