Hi everyone, we are WallDecaux, which is German JCDecaux worlds biggest OOH media owner.
We would like to raise the following issue regarding venue type categorization within OpenRTB venue type taxonomy.
Here is the challenge we have:
Our main inventory are screens that are currently marketed as street furniture. In our case we do have very premium, stand-alone screens standing on the street in most frequently used areas. Such screens are very expensive, have a high quality and look very premium. In order to position such a screen, we need a contract with a city.
Since there is no other category available, all other screens that are on private ground e.g. in the shopwindow, but are facing the street are also marked as street furniture based on the venue type taxonomy. Usually, those screens are simply TV screens facing the street and there is no need to have a contract with a city, the screen is positioned on private grounds. In our opinion there is a needs to differentiate between a stand-alone street furniture screen on public ground and outdoor vs. screens which are on private ground, indoor e.g. in shopwindows.
Let's dicuss!
