The error messages via MQTT are just the robot state being forwarded using that protocol, meaning that they are as reliable or as unreliable as the state reporting of the robot itself. I honestly never heard of cliff sensors triggering when docking or undocking. Especially with a dock like the one of the S5 which sits flat on the ground. This sounds more like a hardware issue and/or something unusual about your setup. |

Would it be possible for Valetudo to implement some kind of "hysteresis" on the error state reporting, so a single error (and i observed it happening with other errors too, the "cliff sensor" error is just the most common example for me) doesnt switch back and forth between the actual error and "unknown error" few times after its being triggered? Regarding the error, when i originally bought S5 brand new it was always doing that, every single time because the dock was placed on a dark walnut floor and i have read online that this is normal behaviour on dark floors. Basically the sensors dont detect the floor and the robot thinks its moving into void. Since then, i have moved the dock to a different place, where the floor is light oak but the robot is under a cupboard with little ambient light, and the error only pops up once in 3-4 days now. Still its quite annoying, because it stops under the cupboard out of sight but no longer in the dock, and if i wont unpause it in time the battery goes flat, hence i want to make the automation |

No, not going to introduce any weird niche workarounds attempting to solve something that might not even exist. Such things have no business being in Valetudo.
That said, maybe you can try one of those plastic floor protection mat things you can buy at e.g. Ikea.
