Custom font not retained on suggestion strip after typing (resets to default)

Describe the bug
With a custom font set (toolbar set to suggestions only), the font initially
renders on both the keyboard keys and the suggestion strip. As soon as I start
typing, the suggestion strip drops the custom font and falls back to the
default font, while the keys keep the custom font. After closing and reopening
the keyboard, the strip is default again except that the 4th and 5th suggestion
slots render with the custom font. The font never reliably persists on the
suggestion strip during use.

To Reproduce
my settings:

• custom font
• toolbar set to suggestions only

1. set custom font
2. view and confirm font is rendered both in keyboard and suggestion strip
3. type in any input box, watch the suggestion strip lose the font
4. close the keyboard and open again in any input box and watch the 4th and 5th suggestion use the custom font

Expected behavior
fonts should persist on the suggestion stip
