Clarification of roadmap/intentions of this project

Hello,

I'm building an IoT product, and have been evaluating different platforms for use in both further prototyping and production. The first proof of concept was done with a mixture of Arduino, Particle and Firebase.

I found this library and thought "YES!", but alas, it is "not stable" and still under heavy development, and as such, is not a production-candidate (yet). Therefore, I'd like to ask if there's

• a roadmap for the further development,
• an expected release for v 1.0 stable
• any concrete plans for further support and development after v 1.0

Also, there's the disclaimer that says "This is not a Google product", but the main contributors are part of the Google organization here on GitHub - what's your affiliation with Google, then? Are you employees there, and have this as a hobby project, or is it part of some R&D? Or something else? :-)

Hi,
I'm also looking for the same use (IOT). I have the same questions as you. For Google implication, in the end, if we can use this in commercial product, we will subscribe to Firebase Paid Account. It mean more money to them.
Google also released their NEST API recently, based on Firebase.

This is currently an experimental project developed by some Googlers (us) in their 20% time and not something officially supported by the Firebase team or Google.

That being said we would definitely appreciate your feedback, input, bug report (and pull request!) on the project.

We have a 0.1 milestone of things we'd like to get fixed next: feel free to take a look and suggest issue that could be added.

I hope this clarify the situation a bit, I added this issue #228 to the milestone as a reminder for us to provide a better answer ;)
