PNG support

I was working on a Cry of Fear texture pack. I don't know if your XASH is supposed to support it or not, but HD texture replacements are only work with TGA. PNG files don't work.

It's a legacy feature, for some old mods that used that specific Xash3D feature.

I don't see why it should be extended.

Ah, I understand. I made a frontend tool for editing Cry of Fear artwork very easily to make HD texture replacements. Right now, at only about 1/4 of Cry of Fear textures replaced, the pack is already almost 7GB in TGA format because the compression is so low (and that is not at the typical 4X either). PNGs allow much much smaller file sizes for HD textures packs. Just figured I'd ask since I might do other HL1 mods too (They Hunger, etc.). Not looking to create work for you though.

You can pack them into a ZIP archive with compression and change the extension to .pk3.

Engine will load it as an archive.
