macOS Version

macOS 15 Sequoia

BlackHole Build(s) Affected

  • 2 channel
  • 16 channel
  • 64 channel
  • other/custom build

Describe the bug

my problem is similar of the "MacOS defaults to BlackHole as a mic #865".
The difference is that indifferently of my mic source, when the audio output is BlackHole, the mic output seems to reduce in FaceTime to an unusable level(but the mic config level in setting or midi app didn't change).

For reference, I only use FaceTime to call phone number thro my iPhone from my Mac.
I didn't have the same problem in other app (Discord, PhotoBooth, ...)

I didn't have any problems when BlackHole is not selected as output (I have selected my MacBook mic as default (same if I chose any other mic connected))

Reproduction Steps

  1. change BlackHole as output
  2. call someone phone number with an iPhone (phone n°1) thro the Mac
  3. barely no sound output from the phone called (phone n°2) (the phone n°2 in question works perfectly) 👎🏻
  4. retry the last step without BlackHole as output
  5. perfectly working 👍🏻

Expected Behavior

calling call someone phone number with an iPhone (phone n°1) thro the Mac, but without the input sound problem
