The linux install script calls x86_64 binaries, but we don't know that we're on an x86_64 platform.

If we happen to be attempting the install from an ARM Linux distro, it will fail.

true, at least for now we're only generating release artifacts for x86_64 platforms. seems totally reasonable to also produce them for ARM, though!
