For me, Terrestria Reforged and Terrestria is the same, like Traverse and Traverse Reforged.

Doestn't using the original require additional things like Fabric API and Sinatra (sp?)

Yes it just requires some little changes, like Sinytra Connector, Forgified Fabrice API and some changes in the build.gradle. You can check DynamicTrees Traverse, the 1.20.1 wasnt harder to do comparing to the 1.19.2.

Terrestria Reforged is the same mod but it can runs on forge, so it's the same worldgen, same way to cancel Trees, same Trees, …
