Description
The switch for enabling the notifications is OFF and grayed out and attempting to switching ON it gives a message like "Restricted setting / For your security, the setting is currently not available" (approx translated to English from localized message version). Happens here on Motorola Edge 40 Neo, running Android 13.
This is an Android issue, not an issue with the app. However, there should probably be some hints/help in the app to deal with this issue because it's going to be extremely common.
It is possible to over-ride and enable these permissions.
To do it, you need to look at the App info page for AlwaysOn and look for the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Android may try to hide them from you. First, visit the Permissions > Notifications Access option in the app and select AlwaysOn. Press the button to try and enable access and get the denial message. Then, go visit the App Info page and the three dots may magically appear. Then select "Allow restricted settings".
This process is confusing as f**k. Google for more info. Use key words "three dots" and "Allow restricted settings" and maybe there's a good how-to out there with some pictures or maybe look it up on Youtube.
