Description
Describe the bug
The emulated Steam Input doesn't seem to work with the game Pizza Tower. Unrelated to Goldberg, I have an issue that prevents my controller from working properly with this game unless I have Steam Input enabled. What is related to Goldberg is that I wanted to use it as a replacement for Steam Input, but it doesn't seem to work properly for me. The log says that it detects the controller mapping file but doesn't seem to actually apply it to my controller.
This happens both with the experimental files and the steamclient_experimental files, and it happens on any version of the game, modded or otherwise. I am using a wireless Xbox Series X/S controller.
Emulator version
2025_11_27
Debug log
STEAM_LOG_1064810339.log
steam_settings file
steam_settings.zip
Infos
The game SteamAppId: 2231450
The game using Denuvo: No
Requirement
- I am uploaded debug log.
- I am uploaded steam_setting file.
- I am sure the game not using 3rd party server (Photon, Playfab, GC, etc).
- I am sure can run the game offline.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Go to a copy of the Pizza Tower game folder.
- Paste the files for experimental or steamclient_experimental into the game folder.
- Paste the steam_settings folder provided above into the game folder.
- Try to use a controller and see if steam_settings affects it.
Expected behavior
The controller works the same as it does when launched through Steam.
Additional context
Regarding the issue with my controller: The game is supposed to natively support controllers without Steam Input, however when I change the controller bindings in-game it for some reason thinks my Right Trigger is left on the joystick (shows left arrow) and my Left Trigger is right on the joystick (shows right arrow). Another problem is that the start button sometimes is detected as the run button instead of the pause button, which is actually an issue I've seen mentioned elsewhere on the Steam forums.
This seems to be an issue with the game itself, not with Goldberg. I am just trying to use Goldberg to remedy this issue with the game but I've yet to successfully do so.
